There are a number of great reasons to work in the field of clinical research studies, and since I’ve begun it’s been more than rewarding. Although we don’t always immediately find the ‘one-pill’ or ‘one-treatment’ we hope to find, we keep an open mind about our research studies. Each step forward either eliminates or advances our investigations — we learn what works and what doesn’t — and we pass on the information.
For me though, helping our clients understand the process of our clinical research trials is first and foremost. In many cases people come to us because they’ve been diagnosed with a condition or illness. A good portion of those clients are people who have medications and/or treatments that don’t seem to be working for them. My main job is to let clients know that our research studies are designed specifically to test the safety and efficacy of treatments for humans. The treatments may help us all understand their condition as well.
We’ve recently been conducting clinical research trials on treatment for Fibromyalgia. This is just one of the research studies we’ve been working on here in DeLand, Florida. Some of our investigational treatments have shown promising results, but there is a need to do additional research studies to test investigational methods that may help us understand your condition.
